Bull City Soap Worx is a Durham, North Carolina based business. Started with the technical knowledge of an Aveda Institute graduate/professional Stylist & the creativity of a seasoned professional Chef.
I grew up in rural North Carolina watching family members do the normal everyday things that are part of the country lifestyle. Gathering eggs from the hens, chopping wood, feeding the animals in the yard and getting water from the well were things that were part of my childhood. I remember watching my Grandmother and Mother making traditional lye soap for the family in the yard in a large black cauldron. I thought it looked so fun and couldn't wait to try my hand at it.
My wife Daniela was raised in a small town in Southern Germany and while attending Aveda cosmetology school, became interested in producing natural products.
After the birth of our son, we started to be more aware of the ingredient lists of many of our household items. We decided that we wanted to reduce our chemical exposure and find more healthy options for our family. So began this journey into saponification.
We use high quality essential oils and Phthalate-free premium fragrance oils to scent our products. All of our products are paraben-free and we do not use SLS in any of our offerings. Our soaps are packaged in biodegradable/ compostable bags and we make every effort to keep packaging minimal to protect our planet.
